Thanks for the link, and one of the pieces we played was called “Apres un Reve,” I can’t remember the composer though. Frankly, I lost the sheet music so I can’t help you out very much.

I knew I had this somewhere, but it took me awhile to find it. Solos For Young Cellists, Arr. Carey Cheney, Vol. 4. There is a book with cello and piano parts, and an accompanying CD on which Carey plays it.

It’s been two months, though, I see. Have you “finished” this and moved onto something else?

Sounds like a semester to look forward to. As to last, what pieces did you play in chamber ensemble that required soloists? Re: books, not knowing what you have already read, you can check out my Practice Books library for ideas.

I want to say that Starker has a recording of it somewhere, but upon looking for it on Amazon, it might not be around any more. Maybe you want to choose a recording of an etude and *then* learn it, just to make sure you can listen to it! I’ll have a look around and see if I have a recording somewhere. If I do, I’ll post it on my blog.
